Our flock swabs are ideal for nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal specimen collection when COVID-19 infection is suspected.

Nasopharyngeal specimen collection swab:

Collection method:

• If possible, have the patient sit with the head tilted back 70 degrees.
• Hold the swab into the nostril, and gently insert the cotton swab into the nostril along the bottom of the nasal septum.
• Continue all the way back until you reach the back of the nasopharynx (the distance from the nostril to the opening outside the ear).
• Rotate the swab several times while it is in contact with the nasopharyngeal wall.
• Then slowly take out the nasal swab.
• And immerse the nasal flocked swab head into a tube (VTM Tube) containing 2-3 ml of virus preservation solution.
